Chianti

Chianti
Casa Vacanze Gli Oleandri recommends a tour to the picturesque villages of Gaiole, Radda and Castellina in Chianti with a tasting of the famous red wine in one of several wineries.

The Hills of Chianti (also known as the Chianti Mountains) are a short mountain line of about 20 km between the provinces of Florence, Siena and Arezzo which mark the eastern border of the Chianti region with the Valdarno and Val di Chiana.

The highest peak is Monte San Michele (893 meters above sea level) in the town area of Greve in Chianti near Florence. The remaining area is mainly hilly and its villages are part of the production zone of Chianti red wine DOCG. Geographically speaking , the Chianti area is quite confused and disputed and it includes all the hills enclosed among Florence, Siena and Arezzo.
