Val d'Orcia is a large valley located in the Tuscan province of Siena, north-east of Mount Amiata and near the border with Umbria.The river Orcia , which gives the name to the valley , passes through this territory . The valley is characterized by pleasant landscapes and several medieval villages, two of which are well known : Pienza and Montalcino.
The valley is also an important natural reserve, full of art and culture, recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO for the excellent preservation of the landscape.
